REFLECTIONS

AN IWI CELEBRATION

Date: March 4, 2025
Time: 1:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: VIFF (1181 Seymour St, Vancouver)

Thank you for attending Watershed Reflections! Watershed Reflections was a celebration hosted by IWI to connect, share, and recognize the work of Indigenous communities and organizations across watersheds in ‘British Columbia’.

We were grateful to be guests and gather on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Please take a moment to fill out this event feedback questionnaire for a chance to win a gift bag, including a SlowTide Towel, an array of Authentic Indigenous Seafood packs, and more. A winner will be drawn at random on March 30th and contacted by email.

‘Our Waters’ Premiere

Our Waters follows the work of five Indigenous communities and organizations—Ts'il Kaz Koh First Nation, Hesquiaht First Nation, Quatsino First Nation, Stqeeye' Learning Society, and the Upper Fraser Fisheries Alliance—that have been supported by the Indigenous Watersheds Initiative (IWI). As caretakers of the land and water, Indigenous peoples recognize the deep interconnectedness of watersheds and their place within these vital ecosystems.

Through the lens of these IWI projects, the film explores the enduring relationship between water, culture, and community, highlighting Indigenous-led watershed stewardship across 'British Columbia' and the importance of continuing to uplift this work.
